Sweepstakes for AirVenture Oshkosh 2014
By Wally Parson, EAA #143073, Volunteer Chair of Sweepstakes and Robin Kasel, EAA #1101159, Donor Development Manager
The EAA Classic Sweepstakes building will have a new location at AirVenture 2014. It will be located due North of the FAA Oshkosh control tower, at the southeast corner of Knapp St. and Waukau Ave.
This year’s Grand Prize is a 1937 Fairchild 24H. The Fairchild 24H is an icon of bygone era, an immediate favorite of outdoorsmen and the Hollywood elite in the 1930s. The Sweepstakes Fairchild was meticulously restored in the late 1990s and was featured on the September 1998 cover of Vintage Airplane. The second place prize is a 2013 Can Am Maverick Xrs, generously donated by Rotax. The Can Am Maverick is built to satisfy the appetite of any high performance side-by-side enthusiast and will take trail riding, dune whacking, and rock crawling to the next level.
When you enter the EAA Classic Sweepstakes and make a donation – even if it’s as little as $10 – you’re helping EAA create the next generation of aviators. Every donation supports EAA programs that educate, engage, and empower people of all ages to take the next step in pursuing their dreams of flight. Started 51 years ago by EAA Chapter 22 (Rockford, Ill.), the sweepstakes continues to be a strong tradition at EAA.
