What a Great AirVenture

What a Great AirVenture

Well, it was fabulous to be at an AirVenture that was even better than the pre-COVID era, at least it felt that way at the Canadian tent. We had more exhibitors, more attendees, more talks, and our space seemed to fill up quickly and constantly every day. The outside of the “tent” (although it’s more like a building these days) had new graphics which are shown in this issue.

I’ve had multiple requests for my presentation on flying between the U.S. and Canada. It’s one of the more popular topics at AirVenture, with six presentations this year instead of three in previous years, yet the room was still almost packed for each one. If you’re interested in getting a copy of the presentation you can download it by clicking on this link. Our newsletter goes to mainly Canadian subscribers, and I’m aware that more than 80% of the audience for this talk may be American, so please pass this link to any U.S. pilot friends you may have that would be interested. We did experience a technical problem with the link included at the end of the presentation, so this link above has been tested and it works.

Advice to authors for future dates: For those of you planning to submit articles for future issues of Bits and Pieces, please go into your calendars and note “Bits and Pieces content due” on or around the 8th of each month, preferably on a weekend. By this, I mean actually put this in for each month. It takes me a while to assemble and edit all the articles, and I have my own schedule I have to stick to in order to submit the whole package to the staff in Oshkosh. I can work with a bit of delay, but not much. Since our newsletter is quite visual, please include a few interesting photos with your articles, ideally with filenames suggesting the captions you would like.

As usual, thanks to our authors, both new and old! You know who you are.
