Commercial Guidelines
Experimental Aircraft Association, Inc. (“EAA”) is the owner of all trademarks, copyrights and other proprietary rights connected to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh (“AirVenture”) and retains all worldwide rights. Any broadcast, rebroadcast, or use of any accounts, pictures, or descriptions of AirVenture (excepting news broadcasts by legitimately accredited and credentialed news media) without the expressed written permission of EAA is prohibited.
All EAA events, including AirVenture are proprietary to EAA, and attendance or exhibition at the same is subject to EAA’s policies and requirements, as well as all applicable laws. Rights may have been granted to national and international broadcast, cable, and satellite services and additional restrictions imposed by those services may also apply.
This policy includes any and all Recordings (of any nature, to include broadcasts, moving and still images, sound etc. regardless of the means of capture or storage used - e.g. film, digital, video, or other format/media) from AirVenture, including but not limited to the following: all activities which may take place within the grounds and flight line areas, the EAA AirVenture Museum, Pioneer Airport, Camp Scholler campground, and Theater in the Woods.
Television stations, networks, cable systems, and other media outlets are prohibited from making recordings available to any other organization without advance written permission from EAA.

EAA’s Television Department is the only authorized library for AirVenture Recordings. No commercial entity shall maintain or service a film or videotape library of AirVenture footage, except as specifically authorized by EAA.
No individual or commercial entity shall intercept and/or record any video feed or satellite transmission used in the distribution of the coverage of any EAA event to its authorized broadcast and cable networks or other authorized users except with the express written consent of EAA.
No commercial entity may make any Recording of any EAA event or activity, including without limitation, AirVenture, without the express written permission of EAA. Every approved broadcaster’s camera operator (commercial or news media) at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh must display the access sticker issued by EAA. Video or film camera operators who do not display the proper access credential will be escorted off the grounds. Violators may be denied access to future EAA events and legal action may ensue.
Use of video material recorded by home-style cameras is restricted to personal use, and any commercial or other use without the express written consent of EAA is strictly prohibited. This includes the sale of any footage obtained on the grounds of AirVenture to any broadcast entity or other entity.
No commercial entity (except legitimately accredited and credentialed media operating under Broadcast/News Media Guidelines outlined in this document) may rebroadcast, retransmit, supply, sell, or re-sell any video material of any EAA AirVenture Oshkosh event without the express written consent of EAA.
EAA does not provide access to photo towers, rooftops, aerial footage, or parking. Please contact the media relations department for possible access to such locations.
EAA is not obligated to provide any form of transportation (cars, golf carts, etc.) for crews of commercial or legitimately accredited or credentialed news media.
Use of video material obtained from any EAA event shall be limited to such use as outlined in this document or as specified in an applicable Licensing Agreement obtained from EAA.
“Non-linear” use of EAA content in any program, which includes (but is not limited to) archived television content on the Internet, television content available on a video-on-demand basis, and television content made available via PVR downloads is prohibited without expressed prior written permission by EAA. This also includes images distributed through formats that include (but are not limited to) cellular, personal communications services and other methods of providing content to handheld digital devices pages, specialized mobile radio and wireless internet (including WIFI).
Camera operators or production crews agree to avoid interference, in any way, with the production of any live or taped legitimately accredited and credentialed television broadcaster. Any instructions provided by EAA officials must be observed without question.
Stock footage is available for sale to non-news sources for broadcast and non-broadcast purposes, beginning two (2) weeks after the final day of AirVenture. For rates and more information, contact EAA Television and Video Services.
Broadcast/News Media Guidelines
Only Broadcast and Film News Media who are legitimately accredited and credentialed by EAA are allowed to broadcast, rebroadcast, or cablecast video material obtained at the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh event.
All legitimately accredited and credentialed Broadcast and Film News Media must agree to follow the EAA Guidelines for Television crews, including all AirVenture grounds access provisions, as later stated in this policy.
Use of any Recordings obtained from any EAA event shall be limited to five minutes and must be used within 48 hours after the close of the event, except by permission of EAA.
All Recordings of EAA events obtained from EAA must provide the appropriate video credit "Courtesy of Experimental Aircraft Association, Inc."
Guidelines for Television/Video Crews
Television crews must follow the directions of officials at all times. If matters require clarification, contact EAA’s Television Department.
Television crews must remain behind the established crowd line at all times while filming the air show or other aerial activities.
Persons and vehicles of any type (golf cart, automobiles, motorbikes, bicycles, etc.) are not permitted beyond the crowd line without authorization from EAA. Those requiring access for the purpose of performing their job should contact EAA Television through EAA Press Headquarters to obtain this exceptional additional permission.
Safety is the primary concern of any decisions made by EAA while directing television crews and other media representatives on the grounds. Other factors, however, may also govern the access decisions established by EAA officials.
General Rules
All designated "no parking" areas must be respected.
All vehicles must be operated in a safe and responsible manner.
Any and all directions given by security personnel and any EAA official must be followed.
All TV ancillary equipment including microphones, cabling, remote cameras, boom cameras must not protrude beyond the crowd line.
EAA AirVenture Grounds Access Procedures
During all hours the following shall apply: Vehicles of any type (golf cart, automobiles, motorbikes, bicycles, etc.) are not permitted on the EAA AirVenture grounds without the proper access pass. Those requiring access passes for the purpose of fulfilling their job must contact EAA Press Headquarters.
Acceptance of your credential or signed production site agreement acknowledges your understanding and acceptance of the EAA Broadcast, Film and Video Policy, and is a specific condition of your admittance to the EAA event. Any violation of this policy may result in exclusion from EAA and/or EAA AirVenture events, fines, and criminal and/or civil prosecution.
