A special presentation celebrating 50 consecutive EAA fly-in conventions in Oshkosh took place on Monday, July 22 at Theater in the Woods during EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2019.

The Fun Fly Zone at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh is home to all kinds of flying machines, from autogyros and helicopters to powered parachutes, light homebuilts, EAA's Twilight Flight Fest, and the rugged mounts of the Valdez STOL competitors.

Bob and Jean Porter came into aviation a bit later in life. At 55, Bob decided to embark on becoming a private pilot. Shortly after he decided he needed an airplane, and found an Ercoupe for $5,000. Needless to say, it needed a lot of work.

Bo Feldman, an 18 year old pilot, has been flying paramotors for a few years and completed a safety training course for potential in flight issues, so decided he wanted to make the 35 hour journey to #OSH19!

While we started out #OSH19 with some big challenges, those helping the event really banded together to make 2019 the biggest year ever. Thank you to all and we already can't wait for #OSH20!

The bombers got the spotlight in 2017, and air tankers got their turn last year, but EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2019 was without a doubt the Year of the Fighter.

Backcountry flying has been all the rage in aviation the last few years and the STOL demonstration at AirVenture has been one of the most popular events to visit during the week.
