Pilot Proficiency Center at AirVenture

eaa pilot proficiency center

Do you have a mindset for growth no matter what level of flying experience you have? Do you aspire to improve your flying skills with better tips and techniques? Do you want to gain more profound knowledge to understand flying, teach, or fly better?

Then join us at EAA's Pilot Proficiency Center this AirVenture!

The Pilot Proficiency Center (PPC) Clinics and Advanced Aircraft Training Device sessions use Master Flight Instructor Rich Stowell's Nine Principles of Light Aircraft Flying. We have created an educational experience that rises above most instructional practices using the Nine Principles' broad categories of Mindset, Motion, and Mechanics.

We have raised the level of academic quality and gathered some of the best experts in the industry to present topics and provide instruction in the Redbird training devices. We have US National aerobatic champions, a former NASA astronaut and Air Force test pilot, FAA Designated Pilot Examiners, National and Regional Flight Instructors of the Year, and representatives from organizations like the National Air Traffic Controllers Association (NATCA), the Society of Aviation and Flight Educators (SAFE), and the National Association of Flight Instructors (NAFI) to name a few.

Join us at AirVenture 2024 for an immersive experience that will transform your aviation skills. This is not just a learning opportunity but a chance to connect with passionate pilots and instructors who share your love for aviation. Engage in hands-on activities and foster relationships that will last beyond the event.

Optimal Learning

Striving for Excellence in Flight Training

The Optimal Learning program will feature multiple topics presented by lead instructors over the week of AirVenture. Lead instructors will challenge, involve, and motivate participants with hands-on, minds-on activities during four-hour training block workshops. There will be two per day, morning and afternoon, except Wednesday and Friday afternoons. Each workshop will include a briefing, interactive discussion, activity and simulator lab, and debriefing periods.

In addition to the Optimal Learning program, a hands-on clinic featuring the operation of supplemental angle of attack indicators and flight simulation orientation will be held from Friday afternoon through Saturday.
