Camp Scholler Opens June 28
June 27, 2019 - Friday, June 28, is one of the traditional countdown days to EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, as Camp Scholler opens to drive-in campers beginning at 7 a.m. Camping is a great way to make new friends from around the world, as AirVenture creates an aviation oasis in Oshkosh every year.
As in past years, campers who obtain campsites prior to AirVenture pay daily rates for the site from the time of registration through the end of AirVenture. Refunds and/or credits are provided to those campers who depart prior to July 28 and turn in their camping credentials. This includes both traditional and water/electric campsites.
Camp Scholler improvements for 2019 include approximately 100 added water/electric campsites west of Stits Road, between Lindbergh Avenue and Elm Avenue (see map). Additional rough campsites also have been added at the south end of the campground, adjacent to Ripple Road.
Areas for 24-hour generator operation are west of Stits Road and south of Elm Avenue. Non-generator camping is available in between Elm and Cedar avenues. In all other general camping areas, generator operation is allowed only between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m.
Other Camp Scholler improvements in 2019 include:
- A new shower building serving the expanded south Camp Scholler area, along Stits Road near the refund station.
- The laundry building is now located near Red One Market West, between Schaick Avenue and the camper registration area.
Red One Market has three locations in Camp Scholler to serve campers with basic needs, such as groceries, ice, and coffee. That includes Red One Market Central near the Fly Market and Paul's Woods on the campground's east side, Red One Market West near camper registration, and Red One Market Southwest on Stits Avenue between Elm and Cottonwood avenues.
