Limited Openings Remain for EAA GirlVenture Day Camp in July
April 17, 2019 - Limited openings remain in the 2019 EAA GirlVenture Camp, a three-day aviation experience at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, July 22-24, for girls entering grades 9-12.
EAA GirlVenture, previously known as EAA’s Women Soar You Soarprogram, is sponsored by HondaJet and is designed to introduce high school-aged girls to the opportunities available in aviation and aerospace. Attendees will participate in flight simulation activities, meet women who are active and in leadership roles in aviation and aerospace, and fully engage in EAA AirVenture activities that bring the world of flight to Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh each year.
“We know the dreams of flight start early, but many times girls do not have the aviation role models and mentors who can encourage and inspire them,” said Tara Parkhurst, a pilot and EAA museum educator. “The people and activities available at GirlVenture tell these young women that there are paths for them in the world of flight. In addition, the entire world of aviation showcased at AirVenture creates an environment where that initial spark of inspiration can be nurtured to discover an aviation future.”
GirlVenture information is available at www.EAA.org/girlventure. Registration is just $100 for all three days of activities. As a day camp, attendees and their families are responsible for overnight accommodations.
