F-35A Lightning II Demo Team Performing at AirVenture 2020

March 26, 2020 - The U.S. Air Force Air Combat Command F-35A Lightning II Demonstration Team will be performing at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2020, scheduled for July 20-26.

The F-35A Demo Team will perform demonstrations as part of the daily air shows, as well as participate in the Air Force Heritage Flight program, as EAA continues to plan for the full AirVenture event in late July.

Capt. Kristin "Beo" Wolfe is the pilot of the F-35A Lightning II Demo Team for the 2020 season. Capt. Wolfe is the Air Force's first female F-35A Demo Team pilot and commander.

"We are extremely proud to have Capt. Wolfe leading the new F-35A Demonstration Team," said Col. Steven Behmer, commander of the 388th Fighter Wing, where the F-35A Demo Team is based. "She's an incredibly accomplished pilot, and we can't wait to see her and the team showcase the capabilities of our wing and the F-35s to the world."

"It's extremely humbling and rewarding to get the opportunity to showcase the F-35A at so many different locations," said Wolfe. "It's a privilege to work with the best airmen from Hill Air Force Base, and to give people a small glimpse of what this jet is capable of."

Introduced in 2016, the Lockheed Martin F-35A is the Air Force's newest fifth-generation fighter. A stealthy, multirole, all-weather air-to-air and surface attack fighter, the F-35A will replace the Air Force's fleet of F-16s and A-10s in the coming years.
