Expansion of Red One Market Grocery Locations at AirVenture 2017

June 1, 2017 - This year at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2017, grocery services will be expanding for campers and visitors. There will be four grocery locations, now known as “Red One Markets.” Expanding these grocery outlets will ensure greater convenience and service for members and visitors attending the fly-in.

The Red Barn and West Camp Store in Camp Scholler, located adjacent to AirVenture grounds, will open on Wednesday, July 19 at 7 a.m. and will be open daily through July 30. The North 40 location will open Saturday, July 22 at 7 a.m., while the South 40 location is scheduled to open on July 22 at noon.

“EAA-operated markets offer many benefits including a wider variety of fresh fruits and vegetables, local dairy and meat products, camping supplies, and lower prices comparable to local grocery and convenience stores,” said Nancy Tribble, director of retail operations. “As always, many upgrades come from ideas forwarded by AirVenture volunteers and attendees. This will give guests options and greater accessibility so they won’t have to leave the grounds.”

These on-site grocery outlets are in close proximity to evening entertainment and amenities and will be a one-stop shop for various grocery needs. Other benefits for Red One Markets include: healthy snacks, frozen breakfast sandwiches and yogurt parfaits, ice, daily hot coffee and fresh donuts, beer and wine from the Camp Scholler locations, as well as AirVenture merchandise.

Unlike in past years when grocery operations were handled by outside vendors, proceeds from Red One Markets will directly support EAA programs.
