Meet the 2022 Raffle Airplane

October 6, 2021 – The EAA Aviation Foundation 2022 raffle aircraft — a 1946 Piper J3C-90 Cub — has been restored to immaculate, showroom condition and you could be its new and proud custodian! Last year EAA Aviation Foundation, Inc. made 4,000 raffle tickets available for purchase and this year the odds of winning are even more favorable, with the maximum number of tickets available for purchase having been reduced to 3,000! To make the opportunity even sweeter, the winner can elect a cash prize of $25,000 in lieu of the aircraft!

Participants can enter the raffle by purchasing one or more tickets: (1) at the EAA Aviation Museum between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. daily (excluding holidays when the museum is closed) beginning October 1, 2021, and ending at 12 p.m. on July 31, 2022; (2) throughout Wisconsin at certain events from October 1, 2021, through July 24, 2022; and (3) on the EAA® AirVenture® Oshkosh™ grounds beginning July 25, 2022, through 12 p.m. on July 31, 2022. Tickets are $100 each. The drawing will be held at 3:30 p.m. on Sunday, July 31, 2022, at the AirVenture Member Center.

This pristine aircraft is feature-packed and is valued at approximately $52,500. When you make a raffle ticket purchase, you are supporting EAA programs that educate, engage, empower, and inspire the aviators and enthusiasts of tomorrow.

Why a Raffle?

Those participating in EAA’s aircraft sweepstakes consistently over the past several years have probably noticed that several changes have been made to this popular promotion over the past two years. Most significantly, the sweepstakes was changed to a raffle in 2019 and is now conducted by EAA Aviation Foundation, Inc. for the purpose of generating funds to support EAA’s programs and activities.

The new raffle format provides several advantages. First, entries are now limited to 3,000. This creates remarkably better odds to win the airplane rather than the prior sweepstakes offering that received more 400,000 entries. Second, the required $100 raffle ticket purchase price ensures that significant funds are generated to support EAA’s growing educational and outreach programs and activities. These programs include KidVenture, Young Eagles, AeroEducate, and museum education programs such as Space Day and Winter Flight Fest.

While tradition at EAA is important, being a good steward of our members’ dues and philanthropic resources is even more important. If you have any questions or concerns about the raffle, please contact a member of the EAA Aviation Foundation, Inc. team at 1-888-500-5600.
