AirVenture Assists Community Organizations

Day by Day Shelter Receives Donations from EAA AirVenture

EAA AirVenture is not only an economic force, it is a community benefit following the event. Again this year, Oshkosh-area charitable organizations benefited from donations from EAA. The Oshkosh Area Community Pantry last week picked up more than 8,600 pounds of leftover food from the Red One Markets, Volunteer Kitchen, Chapter Pavilion, and the A&W restaurants on the site. This is 3,000 pounds more than the donation in 2023 and will help those needing assistance in our community.

In addition, the South African contingent from EAA Chapter 322 in Johannesburg donated its sleeping bags and pillows used in their camping compound to the Day By Day Shelter in Oshkosh. The more than 150 units will go to directly helping those who use the shelter year-round.

These post-AirVenture donations add to the opportunities for local non-profit groups to raise funds via water and soda sales on the flightline during the event, as well as other opportunities for local groups.
