AirVenture Attendees Take a Stand Against ATC Privatization

August 3, 2017 - EAA’s “Modernize, Not Privatize” campaign during EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2017 paid off with more than 11,500 messages sent to lawmakers in Washington, D.C. This success was made possible thanks to the many volunteers on the grounds who sent attendees to ATCnotForSale.com and EAA’s Rally Congress site. Hundreds of AirVenture attendees also rallied against privatization with the leaders of EAA, AOPA, GAMA, and NBAA July 24 at Theater in the Woods. Although the 21st Century Aviation Innovation, Reform, and Reauthorization Act (H.R. 2997), which includes provisions for privatization, was not passed before the House adjourned for August recess, the fight is not over. The bill could come up for a vote at any time after lawmakers return to work in September, EAA urges you to continue contacting your representatives throughout the month of August and make your voice heard.
