AMA Presents EAA With Distinguished Service Award
July 30, 2020 – On Saturday, July 18, at the International Aeromodeling Center in Muncie, Indiana, Tyler Dobbs of the Academy of Model Aeronautics presented EAA Vice President of Advocacy and Safety Sean Elliott with the AMA Distinguished Service Award. This award was accepted by Sean on behalf of EAA for advocating on "critical issues facing the future of model aviation."
EAA has played a significant role over the past year in defending traditional model aviation with recent FAA proposed UAS rules and ID requirements. Many EAA members are also modelers and understand the importance of protecting the freedom of legacy modeling for future generations of modelers and general aviation participants.
