CAFE Foundation Announces 2016 Electric Aircraft Symposium

CAFE Foundation Announces 2016 Electric Aircraft SymposiumMarch 10, 2016 - The 10th Electric Aircraft Symposium, to be held May 19-20, 2016 at the San Francisco Airport Marriott Waterfront, will focus on early entry practical market opportunities in all-electric, hybrid, and autonomous flight. With its history of drawing together green aviation leaders from industry, government, and academia worldwide, EAS is now the go-to conference for electric flight.

“EAS 2016 will look at the technology, regulatory, and market challenges facing electric flight, and how the aviation industry can reach beyond its own walls for technological solutions and business opportunities,” said Yolanka Wulff, EAS 2016 Coordinator.

CAFE Foundation believes that collaborative efforts are key in order to push forward green flight. EAS 2016 will bring together experts to talk about the newest technologies in sustainable propulsion, airframe design and batteries, and to explore the intersection of information integration, deep learning, and aviation. CAFE Foundation has relocated the conference to the San Francisco Bay Area, and is expanding its audience to include business and technology leaders.

“We look forward to an exciting, professional conference that once again welcomes the experts in the industry to gather for two days of networking and information-sharing,” said CAFE Foundation Board Chair Johanna Bumgarner.

This year CAFE will have an EAS exhibit and display area at Maker Faire Bay Area, which

occurs on the weekend immediately after EAS. Maker Faire Bay Area embodies the entrepreneurial spirit of Silicon Valley, and draws 150,000 people annually. EAS attendees will

join Maker Faire VIPs and sponsors for a private reception at the CAFE EAS exhibit area at the

close of EAS 2016.

“The opportunity to have an EAS exhibit area at Maker Faire brings a new level of public

awareness to the electric aircraft industry,” Wulff explained.
