EAA's Aeromedical Advisory Council is a group of senior FAA Aviation Medical Examiners (AME) — all of whom are EAA members — to serve as a reservoir of aeromedical expertise to EAA. They are highly qualified doctors, all with a vast amount of aeromedical aviation expertise.
Meeting every year during EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, the council reviews the current trends within the aviation medical divisions of the FAA, how those trends will affect EAA members, and what EAA can do to assist members to work with these trends.
The Aeromedical Advisory Council provides oversight, guidance, and assistance for EAA's Aeromedical Advisory Program, which acts as advocates for EAA members to resolve their specific FAA medical certification issues.
During EAA AirVenture Oshkosh, the EAA Aeromedical Advisory Council coordinates several aeromedical forums for the benefit of all EAA members.
Current EAA Aeromedical Advisory Council members: Dr. Stephen Leonard (Chairman), Dr. William Blank, Dr. Rolando Diaz, Dr. John Owen, and Dr. Gregory Pinnell.
The EAA Aeromedical Advisory Council activities are coordinated through the EAA Advocacy and Safety Department, at 888-EAAINFO (322-4636).
