Gone West: Bob Taylor

June 25, 2020 – EAA joins the aviation world in mourning the loss of Robert L. "Bob" Taylor, EAA 839, who died on Saturday, June 20, just shy of his 96th birthday. Bob was the founder and driving force behind the Antique Airplane Association (AAA) and its annual fly-in at Antique Airfield in Blakesburg, Iowa. He founded AAA in 1953, just a few months after Paul Poberezny founded EAA, and the two were close friends for decades. Taylor, AAA, and the annual fly-in were the subjects of a feature in EAA Sport Aviation magazine in December 2019.

Bob's full obituary may be found here.
