EAA CEO Pelton Participates in FAA Virtual GA Town Hall

June 18, 2020 – EAA CEO and Chairman Jack J. Pelton appeared on a panel of aviation industry leaders as part of a virtual General Aviation Town Hall the FAA held Thursday.

The GA town hall was an opportunity for both FAA and industry representatives to discuss the innovative ways they are adjusting to COVID-19's impact on general aviation at large. Pelton and other industry leaders discussed challenges presented by the pandemic and how to address them on the first panel of the event before diving into how GA can recover and return to normal operations. Preparing pilots to begin flying after a stretch of inactivity was also addressed.

Following that, a second panel focused on safety issues, including both current and future recommended safe practices within the GA community. Discussion topics included continued airworthiness after decreased operations, FBO services and other airport operations, and how local quarantine rules interact with operations outside of home airports.
