The Success Belongs to All of You

June 2017 - Radek Wyrzykowski, EAA’s manager of flight proficiency and the founder of the IMC Club, visited last month’s meeting of the Nashville IMC Club.

More than 80 pilots from the surrounding area gathered to see an IMC Club’s scenario, followed by a discussion led by Radek. The meeting also included a review of an app of the month chosen by the group, the question of the month, and an ask-the-local-ATC-controller discussion, all led by Joe Creecy, Nashville’s IMC Club program coordinator.

“Thank you to Joe for his effort, commitment, and involvement in this program. Thank you for making the Nashville IMC Club so successful! It is exactly how I envisioned the IMC Club should be,” Radek said after the meeting.

“After the meeting, many of you stopped by, congratulating me on the growth of this organization formed in 2010 from nothing to where it is now,” Radek added in an e-mail to participants. “While the idea may have been mine, the success would not have been possible without everybody involved. The success belongs to all of us; or better yet, it belongs to all of you: our members, friends, donors, volunteers, meeting participants, and chapter leaders! Without you, this program would not have been possible. Thank you!”

At IMC Club meetings, the purpose is to promote instrument flying, proficiency, and safety in a “hangar flying” atmosphere in which pilots can network and share knowledge and experiences. Are you a participant in one of these meetings? Find an IMC Club near you.
