ChapterBlast for Your Events
May 2023 – Now that spring is here in the northern hemisphere and summer is approaching, your chapter likely has a variety of events planned for the year. You might have your annual fly-in coming up, or one of your regular pancake breakfasts, and you want to ensure there is a high turnout to bring in new members and fundraise. Perhaps you have a special guest speaker coming to your chapter, and you want to bring in the local community to see them. Maybe you have a Young Eagles rally that you want to promote to bring more youths into the chapter. Maybe you started a VMC or IMC Club and you want to bring in more pilots to reap its benefits. Or perhaps your chapter is hosting an open house at the local airport that will show off the positive effects the airport brings to the local area.
If you want to bring more people to your events, then a ChapterBlast will help you out. A ChapterBlast is a free promotional email sent by EAA on your chapter’s behalf to all EAA members within roughly 75 miles of your event’s location. The email contains all the details about your event, including what it is, when and where it takes place, and who to contact for more information. ChapterBlasts are a great complement to other means of getting the word out such as press releases, flyers, brochures, and online calendars of events.
ChapterBlasts are only available to active EAA chapters (including divisional chapters/squadrons) for chapter-organized events. They must be requested by a chapter officer, such as the chapter’s president, at least 45 days prior to the date of your event.
Each chapter is limited to three ChapterBlasts per year, so you should carefully consider which events your chapter would like to promote. If you seek to increase your chapter’s membership, then a ChapterBlast is an excellent choice for promoting a high-profile public event that will attract new faces. You can show the EAA members in your region that your chapter exists, and by inviting them to your event, you will pique their interest in your chapter and encourage them to join.
To request a ChapterBlast, all you have to do is complete the online form below. The EAA Chapters team will take care of the rest.
After your request has been submitted, the EAA Chapters team will craft a draft ChapterBlast based on the information you provided. We will email the draft to the person listed as the chapter’s contact for the event. This person should make sure all the information in the draft is correct. Once the chapter’s contact approves the draft, then EAA will schedule the ChapterBlast to be sent. The ChapterBlast will be sent around 10 days before the scheduled event.
Remember that requesting a ChapterBlast from EAA counts toward one of the points for Chapter Recognition each year. This is one of the easiest ways to boost your chapter’s recognition score.
