Final Reminder for Ray Scholarship Chapter Applications

January 2023 – The deadline for EAA chapters to apply for the 2023 Ray Aviation Scholarship is the end of this month! All EAA chapters and divisional chapters (Warbirds, Vintage, IAC, and Ultralights) are welcome to apply to receive a $10,000 flight training scholarship to help a local youth or young adult become a certificated pilot.

Chapters applying for the regular $10,000 scholarship have until January 31, 2023, to submit their application to EAA. To apply, go to EAA.org/RayScholars and click on Ray Aviation Scholarships Chapter Portal to begin your application. If your chapter has begun an application, please make sure it has been fully submitted in the Chapter Portal.

After the application period has closed, chapter applications will be reviewed by our Ray Scholarship Chapter Review Committee, which consists of several chapter leaders from around the United States who volunteer their time to review each chapter. Chapters will be reviewed based on their overall health and activity as determined by their Chapter Recognition score, youth activities the chapter engages in, experiences administering a scholarship (if applicable), and the availability of potential scholars.

Chapters that are awarded a $10,000 Ray Aviation Scholarship by EAA will be notified in the second half of February 2023. Once each chapter has been awarded, they can begin nominating their scholars to receive the awards.
