Time to Renew Your Chapter!

By Kyle Voltz, Chapter Field Rep.

November 14, 2018 — What a year it has been! EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2018 was another fantastic event, Flying Start was rolled out, and EAA announced the creation of the Flying Club Resource Center. With AirVenture behind us, the year’s best flying weather typically sets in. However, in north-central Wisconsin we were a bit shorted on good fall flying weather with the first snow flying on October 20!

November signals the end of the year for many chapters, with elections and year-end banquets right around the corner. It also means that it is time for chapter renewal again. Your online renewal will be sent via email to all four of your chapter officers, but only one officer must complete the renewal.

For those of you who have renewed your chapters over the past several years, I hope you have noticed a steady improvement in the online chapter renewal tool. We are very proud of the progress made and are excited to build upon that success. This year, you will see a familiar renewal tool with a few small updates to improve the user experience, but no major changes.

For chapter officers completing the renewal, it should be quick and painless — 15 minutes or less to complete if you have the chapter’s information ready to go. The renewal will pull your current information and allow you to make changes as needed for the upcoming year. Please look carefully as we use this data to keep you notified about programming, benefits, and other important information. This is also used to keep your chapter’s contact information up to date online so prospective members can reach you. Once you complete the online renewal, you will have the option to pay with a credit card or send a check as always. In addition, you will also be able to save your chapter’s renewal information as a PDF.

Please take a few moments to ensure that your chapter has completed the renewal and is ready for 2019. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact anyone in the EAA chapters office, or email us at chapters@eaa.org.

As always, we thank you for your efforts throughout the year on behalf of EAA and your chapter. Chapters are what make EAA such a special organization, and that is all thanks to our wonderful chapter leaders!
