One Call May Turn Into 10 New Members at Your Next Meeting — and a Lot of Fun!

August 22, 2017 - Is your chapter ready to engage prospective new members who share your passion for aviation? What if we told you these visitors have feet for landing gear and like to strap an 18-hp engine on their backs? In an effort to achieve our collective mission of growing participation, enriching participant experience, and strengthening the aviation community, the EAA and the United States Powered Paragliding Association (USPPA) are working together, and we’re hoping our members will, too.
The EAA and USPPA have already agreed to lower the financial barrier to help our members meet up and work together. For EAA members desiring to join USPPA and for USPPA members desiring to join EAA for the first time, the first year’s membership will be discounted by 25 percent.
But as Paul used to say, it’s the planes that bring us together and the relationships that keep us together. In that spirit, USPPA will begin communication efforts to encourage its members to reach out to EAA members, and we’re hoping EAA chapters will help by inviting USPPA members in to share aviation experiences. Together, we are truly stronger!
USPPA will be encouraging its members to reach out to EAA chapter leaders, but don’t wait for them to track you down. Reach out to powered paragliding pilots and enthusiasts, and invite them to your next chapter meeting!
If you need a place to start, check out the PPG Flight School and Instructor directories on the USPPA website, and reach out to members near you. Instructors organize most USPPA clubs; so, one call may turn into 10 or more visitors to your next meeting!
