Aviation and petroleum industry leaders and the FAA establish the joint EAGLE (Eliminate Aviation Gasoline Lead Emissions) program, focused on safely eliminating the use of leaded aviation fuel by the end of 2030 without adversely affecting the safety and operation of the existing piston-engine fleet. EAGLE supports each of the four fuel developers in their efforts.
September 2022
FAA issues an Approved Model List Supplemental Type Certificate (AML STC) for GAMI's G100UL unleaded avgas.

EPA releases their proposed finding of endangerment regarding lead emissions from piston aircraft.
December 2022
Congress allocates $10 million for continued testing and evaluation of unleaded fuel to move GA to a fleetwide, lead-free fuel solution by no later than 2030.
January 2023
A coalition of seven aviation stakeholder organizations, including EAA, submitted comments to the EPA’s proposed endangerment finding of lead in aviation gasoline.
