Enhanced Coverage for Canadian Air Owners at Same Rates with EAA C-PLAN Aircraft Insurance

EAA AVIATION CENTER, OSHKOSH, Wis. — (May 20, 2014) — Canadian aircraft owners and pilots who are Experimental Aircraft Association (EAA) members now have strengthened aircraft insurance coverage, as Global Aerospace Canada has approved coverage enhancements for avionics, search and rescue, spares, baggage, trip interruption and forced landing under the C-PLAN available only to Canadian EAA members.

“The new coverage expansions are a welcome addition to an already robust insurance plan for those of us who fly and own aircraft in Canada,” said Jack Dueck, EAA Canadian Council Chair and C-PLAN insured. “Thanks to Global Aerospace Canada and Nacora Insurance Brokers for continuing to develop such a quality insurance program exclusively for Canadian EAA members.”

EAA C-PLAN now offers improved coverage in the following areas (all amounts in Canadian dollars):

• $100,000 Search and Rescue (increased from $50,000)
• $5,000 Headset and Handheld Avionics (increased from $1,000)
• Up to 50 percent of hull value Forced Landing insurance (increased from 20 percent)

There is also new coverage under the EAA C-PLAN in the following areas

• $10,000 Passenger Baggage
• $25,000 Spares
• $1,000 Trip Interruption per passenger, up to $5,000

The EAA C-PLAN also maintains the following coverage:

• Pilot Clause includes any pilot approved by the policyholder, subject to minimums of 250 hours total flying time, 25 hours on type and 10 hours in the past 12 months.
• If claim amount exceeds the deductible, the deductible will not apply.
• $10,000 Medical Expenses
• $50,000 Emergency Expenses
• $5,000 Personal Property
• $10,000 Passenger Baggage
• $25,000 Spares
• $1,000 Trip Interruption per passenger, up to $5,000
• $1,000,000 Non-Owned Hangars and Contents
• $1,000,000 Premises Liability Extension
• Work In Progress (WIP) available upon request
