EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2024 celebrates vertical lift and rotorcraft aviation during EAA WomenVenture on July 24
Special programming, exhibits, and more included throughout week
EAA AVIATION CENTER, OSHKOSH, Wisconsin — (June 6, 2024) — Celebrating women involved in vertical lift and rotorcraft aviation missions will be the theme for EAA WomenVenture 2024 during EAA AirVenture Oshkosh. The 71st edition of the Experimental Aircraft Association’s fly-in convention is July 22-28 at Wittman Regional Airport in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.
“This year, we wanted to focus on the vertical lift and rotorcraft industry as it is a uniquely impactful segment of the aviation world,” said Margaret Viola, an EAA-member pilot who is the volunteer chair of the event.
EAA WomenVenture flagship programming on Wednesday, July 24, will include:
- Annual EAA WomenVenture Group Photo | 11 a.m. | Boeing Plaza
- Power Lunch | 11:30 a.m.| Theater in the Woods (SOLD OUT)
- Keynote speaker, Nicole Battjes, CEO of Rainbow Helicopters
- Evening program | 6:30 p.m. | Theater in the Woods
- Panelists include highly accomplished women from the vertical lift industry
“Nicole Battjes, along with our panel of female aviators in the vertical lift space, have helped make great progress in the industry while inspiring other women to pursue their aviation dreams,” said Viola. “We are excited for them to speak to the evolving nature of vertical lift missions, both past and present.”
In addition to the July 24 activities, the EAA WomenVenture Center will be open all week on the AirVenture grounds, featuring 13 nonprofit aviation organization exhibitors, daily forums from 8:30 a.m. to 5:15 p.m., and social gatherings on the covered patio. The center will have a new location in 2024 on Knapp Street between EAA Press Headquarters and the Forums and Workshops area. Other activities throughout the week include an Ice Cream Social hosted by Endeavor Air (SOLD OUT) on Monday, July 22, all-female Author’s Corner on Thursday, July 25, and an appearance by Miss America on Friday, July 26.
