Beech Staggerwing
July 3, 2019 - This Beech Staggerwing, FT478, was restored to its original Royal Navy configuration and livery at the historic Flabob Airport in Riverside, California. The work began with Mark Lightsey of AeroCraftsman and was completed by Nando Mendoza of West Coast Air Creations. This beautiful airplane is owned by Granger Haugh, a former Navy pilot and supporter of youth aviation programs at Flabob. The aircraft was designated as a Traveller Mk. I by the Royal Navy where it saw wartime service with 781 Squadron at Lee-on-Solent in the United Kingdom. This beautiful restoration won Best Light Transport at EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2018 as well as a Silver Wrench for West Coast Air Creations. AirVenture attendees can visit the Staggerwing at the VAA Red Barn during the week of Oshkosh.
