Where You Can Become a Better Pilot
Are you prepared for dangerous flying conditions that may sneak up on you? Do you feel ready for unexpected emergencies mid-flight? Or are you looking to just be a better pilot?
Pilot Safety Training
EAA’s Pilot Proficiency Center (PPC) can help you do all of those things and more. With 12 FAA- Certified Redbird LD Advanced Aviation Training Devices (AATD), you can experience hazardous weather environments, unexpected mechanical issues, and other conditions you may not experience during a normal flight.
In other words, you can virtually prepare for dangerous situations without putting your or your aircrafts safety at risk.
Training Formats and Scenarios
EAA’s PPC training is more than just watching a video. We meet you where you are in your proficiency journey and customize hands-on trainings to your specific needs. Our simulation library contains hundreds of scenarios from navigating unfamiliar airspace to fuel management to impossible turns. Trainings are scalable from single-user sessions to large group events with multiple presentation formats.
Our current programming includes:
- Self-guided, one-hour Redbird Pro Simulation Sessions: With your current Redbird Pro App subscription (or 30-day free trial), you can schedule time for a baseline skills assessment and then receive a customized and on-going training plan.
- Customizable IFR and VFR proficiency-based trainings: Trainings can range from two hours in length to multi-day or a full week in length and can be tailored to your group’s training needs.
- Fully-immersive certificate-based training: The ultimate in proficiency training, explore new or additional pilot certifications in a safe, hands-on experience with multi-screen, wrap- around visual panels, realistic controls, and even specific environments. For example, our Sport Pilot Academy for new pilots, which can take you from pedestrian to pilot in three weeks. (More offerings coming in 2023!)
Make Your Simulator Time Count
Depending on the program or certification you are working toward, your simulation time could count toward your flight training hours.
Efficient and Cost-effective Skill Enhancement
One huge advantage to simulation training is its efficiency and cost- effectiveness—You won’t need to pay $200/hour for flight instruction, fuel, and a training aircraft. And there is almost literally a reset button if you need to start your training experience over, something you just can’t do in real life if a mistake is made. There’s also no need to turn an aircraft around for another attempt, giving you more time “in the air.”
Qualified Instructional Staff
