Isn't it Time?

EAA has developed pathways to flight making it easier, more affordable, and more accessible. Stop dreaming. Start flying.

Prerequisites

To ensure you're ready to hit the ground running when you get here, your training journey begins before you arrive in Oshkosh! Once your application is accepted and you've registered, you'll have some homework to do.

  • Completion of the Online Ground School — The Sporty's Online Sport Pilot Ground School course, included with your tuition, will give you the tools you need to ace the FAA written test. Once we receive your deposit, EAA will provide you access to this course.
  • Garmin G3X Touch Certified Essentials eLearning Course — Included with your tuition, this course will familiarize you with the avionics suite in our training aircraft. Once we receive your deposit, EAA will provide you access to this course.
  • FAA Written Test — After you finish the online course, go to an approved FAA testing center to take the exam. Please give yourself plenty of time to study before scheduling the test, which you must pass before you start training with us.
  • FAA Student Pilot Certificate — Create an account on the FAA's Integrated Airman Certification and Rating Application (IACRA) website, and follow the instructions to apply for your student pilot certificate.

Please note: Although EAA fully intends for every student to leave the course with a Sport Pilot certificate in hand and will make every effort to do so, the issuance of your certificate cannot be guaranteed. In rare cases, various factors beyond the control of EAA, such as weather, student aptitude, or physical abilities may prevent a student from earning their certificate.
