The Norman Collection contains more than 600 black and white, 8x10 prints of civil and military, foreign and U.S. aircraft from the golden age of aviation. Many photos are stamped with the factory name on the back and Italian aircraft descriptions are written in Italian.
The museum staff has been unable to locate any records or information about this collection so it has become somewhat of a mystery. Who was Mr. Norman? Did he donate the collection or did someone else give it to the EAA and when?
In addition to the wonderful photographs, there are more than 400 scale model drawings. These drawings are rolled and stored in our archive room. Many of the drawings are “Cleveland” drawings that were so popular in years past.
Examples from the collection are show above. The complete collection can be viewed on the EAA Museum's Flickr website.
