The Driggers A, “Sunshine Girl 3rd,” parasol monoplane is a classic 1930s homebuilt aircraft. This is the third aircraft design built by Willard Driggers who worked as a draftsman for Pitcairn Aircraft.
Sunshine Girl 3rd was constructed from1928 to1930 and flown until 1936, when damage from a landing accident caused it to be put into storage. Driggers received his flight instruction from Lt. Ernest Harmon in 1923 and received special permission from General William H. “Billy” Mitchell, to solo from Bolling Army Air Field in Washington, D.C.
