A Change in Direction for AirVenture DVDs

September 12, 2019 - While the release of an AirVenture recap DVD was a tradition that had been around for years, rising costs and steadily declining sales have led to a change in direction. For EAA AirVenture Oshkosh 2019, instead of the traditional recap, we produced a DVD titled Celebrating 50 Years in Oshkosh that featured highlights from every fly-in convention starting in 1970. While some members have asked about a DVD specific to the 2019 event, the response to this latest DVD (and its streaming counterpart) has been extremely positive, and the dramatic increase in sales reflects that.

We will continue to shoot countless hours of video at AirVenture every year in support of web content, social media, specialty programs, EAA member content, features for digital versions of our magazines like EAA Sport Aviation, and more. And we will continue to produce feature-length videos available via streaming and DVD for those who still prefer physical media, but going forward, the videos will be focused on a particular theme as opposed to trying to capture all of AirVenture in any given year.
