A Note From the Editor
Wedding Bells and Saying Goodbye to an Old Friend
By Harold Cannon, Editor, EAA Warbirds Briefing, firstname.lastname@example.org
Some of you may have noticed that there was no Briefing in your in-box December. My apologies. By way of explanation, things have been a bit busy around here. As you’ll read below, my L-39 has found a new home, back in the Czech Republic no less. Rich Hess has written about the great adventure of getting it to the new owner, and you can read it below. No shipping cartons were harmed or even used.
On a personal level, they say that love is better the second time around, and I think they’re right. New Year’s Eve, Julie and I were married. There’s just something about a girl who’s worried about your aircraft enough to consider upchucking into her flight suit that you have to love. Many of my warbird friends and a lot of the Warbirds of America Squadron One (Tennessee) were in attendance, so you can imagine the party.
I think anyone who has friends like these is truly blessed. (How many of you have had a Vietnam veteran Marine, air show pilot, and 300-mph dragster driver decorate your wedding cake?) 2011 is off to a grand start. Let’s all say a prayer it stays that way for our families, friends, and nation.
