Van's Delivers First Fly-Away RV-12 S-LSA
George Longino digs his new Signature Series RV-12 S-LSA, the first fly-away plane delivery by Van's Aircraft.
June 5, 2013 - A new era has begun at Van's Aircraft on May 31 as the company announced delivery of its first factory-made RV-12 special light-sport aircraft (S-LSA). The buyer, George Longino, arrived in Aurora, Oregon, that Friday morning to pick up his new Signature Series RV-12 S-LSA, N512SG, from company founder Dick VanGrunsven.
On Friday afternoon, Longino received RV transition training included in the purchase price from instructor Mike Seager, and the two successfully flew the airplane to its new home near Dallas, Texas.
Van's stated that a total of 12 Signature Series airplanes have been completed or are under construction. All have been sold and are expected to be delivered to their new owners before the end of the year.
