Tecnam to Unveil Astore LSA at AERO Next Month
Tecnam provides a glimpse of its new airplane, the Astore, set to be unveiled at AERO Friedrichshafen.
March 21, 2013 - Tecnam announced this week it will introduce a new light-sport aircraft, the Astore, at next month's AERO 2013 Friedrichshafen in Germany. Tecnam, which marks its 65th anniversary this year, calls the Astore "an all-new, two-seat, low-wing aeroplane that offers superlative performance."
The airplane is named after the P48 Astore, first production aircraft by Tecnam's Professor Luigi Pascale, head of aircraft design. It includes a new ergonomically designed interior, enhanced all-around visibility, easy-to-reach control and switches, and softer materials for a more comfortable flight.
The Astore comes standard with an Apple iPad mini, which provides a full primary flight display running third party applications like Air Navigation Pro when connected via WiFi with the Levil G Mini. A pre-installed, dedicated app will compute the actual weight and balance, provide checklists, and include all pilot's operating handbook sections.
Customers will have a choice between three Rotax engines - 912ULS, 912iS, or 914.
"I am delighted we are able to celebrate Tecnam's 65th anniversary by introducing the Tecnam Astore as the new addition to our extensive range of aeroplanes that ensure as wide an audience as possible can enjoy the pleasure of flying a Tecnam aeroplane," said Paolo Pascale, Tecnam's managing director.
