Enjoy and Preserve Timeless Aircraft With EAA Vintage Aircraft Association

Vintage Aircraft Association

February 26, 2013 - Those who own or have a passion for old airplanes will feel right at home in EAA's Vintage Aircraft Association (VAA).

As a member of the world's largest organization dedicated to the enjoyment and preservation of vintage aircraft, you can experience the aviation world of yesteryear while receiving valuable tips on flying, maintaining, and restoring these great old birds.

Vintage includes all aircraft manufactured prior to 1971. Antiques are those built prior to September 1, 1945, Classics are those built from September 1, 1945, to December 31, 1955, and Contemporary are those built from January 1, 1956, to December 31, 1970.

As a VAA member, you will have the opportunity to join a local chapter that organizes fly-ins and other events that cater to those who love Antique, Classic, and Contemporary aircraft.

Members receive six issues of the division's Vintage Airplane magazine, which contains valuable information about restoration projects and tips, member profiles and flying adventures, beautiful photographs, and much more.

Additionally, the new VAA e-newsletter, Vintage AirMail, brings news to members during the months without a magazine. Vintage AirMail also highlights vintage airplane activity at airports around the county, and is a place to share additional information. Subscribe to Vintage AirMail and other EAA newsletters

VAA's newly developed website brings vintage airplanes to life for members through multimedia resources, exclusive interviews, bonus imagery, and a Members Only area, where members can view all of the past Vintage Airplane magazines.

VAA's affiliation with EAA gives members government representation, and the ability to more fully participate in events like EAA AirVenture Oshkosh each year. VAA members also have access to an aircraft insurance plan especially for owners of vintage aircraft.

Current EAA members can join VAA for an annual fee of $42, which includes a membership card, a set of full-color decals, the publication subscriptions, and access to an affordable insurance plan. For those looking for complete membership benefits from both EAA and VAA, an annual fee of $82 will give you membership to each organization, including 12 issues of Sport Aviation magazine. VAA family and lifetime memberships are also available.
