EAA Spirit of the Holidays Online Auction Raises $50,000
December 13, 2012 - EAA thanks all those who graciously participated in the annual Spirit of the Holidays Online Auction, which concluded Monday with a grand revenue total of $50,427 - more than double the amount raised in 2011. These funds will be used to support EAA programs that support historic preservation and engage young people in aviation.
Fifty-five items were on the block, generating nearly 400 individual bids. Among the featured items: two type ratings in EAA's Ford Tri-Motor ($10,000 each); use of a golf cart during AirVenture 2013 ($3,500); and a special 2012 Naval Centennial Commemorative Breitling Watch, ($7,500).
"We appreciate the generosity of our members and friends, both those who donated items to enrich our auction offering, and those who bid!" said Elissa Lines, EAA vice president of donor and business relations. "How fun to gift items and experiences that extend our collective passion for flight while also supporting EAA's programs and activities."
