Advocacy Team Conducts Key Business at AOPA Summit
October 18, 2012 - EAA had a strong advocacy presence at the AOPA Summit in Palm Springs last week. Vice President of Advocacy and Safety Sean Elliott and Vice President of Government Relations Doug Macnair met with AOPA leadership to coordinate joint advocacy initiatives, FAA officials to maintain EAA's strong relationship with the agency, and members of Congress including EAA member and pilot Sam Graves of Missouri.
Included on the agenda were aeromedical issues, the future of aviation piston fuels, FAA rules on "living history" flights, and much more.
"This is an important opportunity to speak face to face with leaders from across the aviation community in one place," Elliott said. "A strong and sincere dialog with government and industry leaders is critical to advancing the interests of our organization, our members, and the recreational aviation community."
