AERO 2012 Just Around the Corner
Europe’s biggest GA expo, AERO Friedrichshafen 2012, is April 18-21 in Germany.
March 8, 2012 – Organizers of the 20th AERO Friedrichshafen general aviation trade show are looking toward final preparations for this year's event, scheduled for April 18-21 in Friedrichshafen, Germany. More than 500 exhibitors are expected to attend and show off their latest offerings, including light aircraft, avionics, aircraft maintenance, and more. New offerings in 2012 include the Helicopter Hangar, focusing on all things rotorcraft, and the first Engine Area, presented by fliegermagazin. Returning for its fourth year at AERO is the e-Flight Expo highlighting the emerging electric aircraft field.
Most machines exhibited at AERO will be traditional airplanes powered by single or twin reciprocating engines. Light aircraft, including European light aircraft (ELA), ultralights, and the United States' LSA category, will comprise the largest number of aircraft on display. AERO officials are making special mention of a new single-engine model from Pipistrel with combustion or hybrid motor, a large twin diesel from Diamond Aircraft, and the final design of the Flight Design C4, a single-engine four-seater exhibited as a mock-up last year.
AERO 2012 starts on Wednesday, April 18, and runs through Saturday, April 21. Doors are open at from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily. For more information, click here.
