Online Training From American Bonanza Society
March 1, 2012 – The American Bonanza Society (ABS) has rolled out a new online version of its highly regarded Bonanza Pilot Proficiency Program (BPPP) that will greatly reduce cost and provide flexible scheduling.
The ABS has been offering its BPPP courses for decades as weekend events where Beechcraft Bonanza, Baron, and Travel Air pilots gather for ground and flight instruction that is specifically tailored to their airplanes. The program is so well established that most insurance companies offer discounts to pilots who complete BPPP initial and recurrent courses.
The new plan allows pilots to complete a 13-module course online. The course contains all of the material covered in the normal BPPP course seminars. After pilots complete the online course they can schedule up to four hours of flight review and instruction with an approved BPPP CFI who is most conveniently located to the airplane owner. Cost of the course and flight instruction is $495 and you must be an ABS member.
If a pilot's flying meets the BPPP standards, completion of the course can result in a flight review and/or instrument proficiency check signoff. Successful completion will also earn you the certificate that is important to your insurance carrier.
The ABS has created a course sample for non-members to view at Program 1, Emergencies.
ABS members can check the group's website for more information and to schedule training.
