Voting for Lightspeed Aviation Foundation Grant Awards Ends August 31
August 18, 2011 –There are less than two weeks left to cast your vote for a deserving aviation organization in the Lightspeed Aviation Foundation grant awards competition. Twenty nonprofit organizations are finalists in the running for grants, and the top five vote-getters will each receive a $10,000 grant from the foundation for their charitable efforts.
The Lightspeed Aviation Foundation’s stated mission is “to promote a vibrant and growing pilot community, support education that will preserve and extend the future of aviation, and use our gifts within the aviation community to serve others for the betterment of our world.”
EAA is pleased that the Lightspeed Foundation selected EAA Chapter 44 as one of the groups competing for this year’s grants. EAA Chapter 44 aims to use funds to complete its Sport Aviation Learning Center, which is home to the chapter’s Young Eagles events and aviation outreach programs. Also in the running are several Angel Flight groups, CAP, AOPA Foundation, mission aviation groups like JAARS and MAF, and others.
