April 21, 2011 — AERO 2011 provided a great opportunity for EAA staff members to meet and greet EAA members from Europe and around the world. During the event EAA signed up or renewed 87 memberships while EAA Chairman Tom Poberezny and his wife, Sharon, participated in AERO events and visited with members for two days. EAA Government and Advocacy Specialist David Oord attended ASTM standards meetings prior to the opening of AERO, then led a delegation of volunteers in answering member questions and welcome new members. He was assisted by his wife, Emily, and long-time EAA member Peter Raab of Frankfurt, Germany.

Mary Jones, director of EAA Publications and editor of EAA Sport Aviation, along with freelance writer Marino Boric, provided coverage of the event for the EAA website and e-Hotline. Look for a feature about AERO in the June issue of Sport Aviation as well.
