Students Get Their Rockets Checked at EAA

Fourteen collegiate teams from the Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium brought their rockets to the AirVenture Museum March 26 for inspection.
March 31, 2011 — The Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium hosted its annual spring safety review meeting Saturday at EAA’s AirVenture Museum, where teams of college students had their rocket projects inspected. The consortium, of which EAA is a member, involves 14 teams and more than 50 students and its grant program helps fund EAA’s annual Space Week and Women Soar programs.
The safety inspection was directed by Dr. William Farrow of the Milwaukee School of Engineering, and included the high-power rocket engines and any issues the team may have identified in the rocket airframe, payload sections, control systems, altimeter, and recovery system.
