Osa’s Ark Proceeds Across Atlantic

August 26, 2010 — Tom Schrade EAA 386077, departed Anoka County-Blaine Airport, Minnesota, last Saturday, August 21, to start his attempt to fly his Sikorsky S-38 reproduction, Osa’s Ark, across the Atlantic Ocean to Europe. He flew across Canada, crossed over to Greenland where he flew along the southern coast, and at deadline had just arrived in Iceland. Final destination is Berlin, Germany. The fight benefits Wings of Help, an organization for children in need based in Frankfurt, Germany. Schrade’s would be the first successful flight of the type across the Atlantic.
