Free ILTFD Tickets Hit 10,000

Also look for free EAA Membership offer in Sport Aviation

April 29, 2010 —On Saturday, May 15, more than 300 events throughout the nation will help people “live the dream” of learning to fly including many organized through PilotJourney.com, a strong supporter of the International Learn To Fly Day concept.  Pilot Journey has already provided more than 10,000 free tickets to learn-to-fly events throughout the U.S. on May 15.

“Pilot Journey has been an outstanding partner both in terms of their commitment and their results to date in support of International Learn To Fly Day” said EAA President Tom Poberezny. “They truly understand and believe in the importance of introducing enthusiasts to the world of flight, and we’re extremely pleased with their outstanding efforts.”

The information center for International Learn to Fly Day is the www.learntoflyday.org website, which features the ability to find an event that encourages a person to discover more about flying, or allows a group or company to post an event that welcomes those interested in flying.

Take Someone Flying, We’ll Make them a Member for Free!
You can provide a friend with a complimentary 6-month membership and keep the excitement going.  In your May 2010 edition of Sport Aviation, look for an International Learn to Fly Day insert that includes this special offer.

EAA has taken leadership of this important effort because of the organization’s extensive network of nearly 1,000 chapters, which supports and promotes aviation on the local level. As part of that effort, EAA chapters are urged to participate by organizing events in their local communities and let people know about them by posting to www.learntoflyday.org.

“EAA chapters offer a very important link to growing the flight community, as chapters are the neighborly connection that welcomes new aviators and those who want to discover more about flight,” Poberezny said.
