30th Annual Illinois Ultralight Advisory Council Seminar
February 11, 2010 — The Illinois Ultralight Advisory Council holds its 30th Annual IUAC Ultralight/Light Plane Safety Seminar on Saturday, February 27, in the Illinois Building on the Illinois State Fairground in Springfield. The event is free with registration at the door. Along with four presentations, there’ll be vendor displays for ultralights, engine manufacturers, and accessories.
Morning sessions include “Rotax 582 and 912 Engines,” presented by Phil Lockwood, Lockwood Aviation; and “How Safety Impacts Aviation Regulations,” by EAA’s Earl Lawrence, vice president of industry and regulatory affairs. After lunch, “Making Your Communication Equipment Work,” by Doug Fetters, Sport Link Communications; and “The New Sport Pilot Regulations,” by Paul Hamilton, Adventure Productions. Registration is 8-9 a.m., with the seminar sessions beginning promptly at 9:00. The day will conclude around 4 p.m. Also participating will be the Illinois Department of Transportation-Division of Aeronautics, and the FAA’s Springfield FSDO.
