Harrison Ford Flies Relief Missions to Haiti

February 10, 2010 —Former EAA Young Eagles Chairman Harrison Ford is providing support to the Haitian earthquake relief by flying medical volunteers and supplies for Operation Smile. According to the organization, Ford made three separate trips in his Cessna Caravan from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic, into Hinche, Haiti, this week where the Operation Smile team is providing surgery for earthquake victims. According to its website, Operation Smile is a mobilized force of medical professionals and caring hearts who provide safe, effective reconstructive surgery for children born with facial deformities such as cleft lip and cleft palate. A total of 20 volunteers and supplies were flown in by Ford in the three flights.
