Celebration of Vicki Cruse’s Life Planned on September 12

August 27, 2009 — A memorial event to celebrate the life of Vicki Cruse is planned for September 12 at her hangar on Santa Paula Airport in California. Vicki, president of the International Aerobatic Club, died in a plane crash on August 22 while participating as a member of the United States Unlimited Aerobatic team at the World Aerobatics Championships in Silverstone, Buckingham, England. The celebration is scheduled to begin at 11:30 a.m. Those planning to attend are asked to RSVP to rsvpcpaviation@yahoo.com and indicate how they plan to arrive – by plane or by car. For more information, see the flyer created for the event.

On Monday this week, team managers at the World Aerobatic Championships decided that the event would continue on in tribute to Vicki. “She would most certainly have wanted us to continue, there is no doubt in my mind,” wrote CIVA (Commission Internationale de Voltige Aerienne) President Mike Heuer on his event blog.
