EAA Gears up to Participate at Sun ín Fun 2009
March 13, 2009 —
As the 35th Sun ’n Fun Fly-In, April 21-26 at Lakeland Linder Regional Airport in Lakeland, Florida, draws near, EAA continues preparations to provide an array of offerings at the EAA Welcome Center, admission discounts, forum presentations, and more.
If you’re planning to attend, please note one major change from past years: At the main gate, there will no longer be a separate EAA members’ admissions area. Instead, EAA members can enter at the main gate and receive their weekly or daily member discount by showing their membership card. EAA member preferred pricing remains as the best deal on Sun ’n Fun admission.
EAA decided to make the change to make more efficient use of its resources. This will also simplify the admission process. By creating a single entry point, it will be less confusing for all attendees.
For those who traditionally renew their EAA memberships at Lakeland, or for those planning to re-join on site, we recommend doing so online ahead of time. Then you can also pre-purchase your admission at www.sun-n-fun.org, saving you money and avoiding the lines.
In the meantime, EAA is welcoming volunteers who’d like to assist with EAA’s activities at Sun ’n Fun. We’re looking for help in the following areas:
- Pre-show set up of the EAA Welcome Center;
- Registration, main gate (selling admission wristbands and memberships in EAA);
- EAA membership - look-ups/sign-ups at the main gate;
- EAA membership - selling/look-ups/sign-ups at the EAA Welcome Center, and;
- Post-show teardown of the EAA Welcome Center.
To volunteer, please e-mail Chris Jovaag, EAA membership marketing coordinator, at email@example.com.
Several EAA members and staff will present a variety of forums and workshops at Sun ’n Fun. Subjects include aircraft insurance, sport pilot/light-sport aircraft, homebuilding (featuring EAA’s Joe Norris, EAA homebuilders’ community manager), and more. (See a complete forums schedule at www.Sun-N-Fun.org.) A special EAA chapter event will be announced soon.
See you in Lakeland (and don’t forget to bring your EAA membership card).
