EAA Team Prepares For Sebring Expo
January 15, 2009 — Several EAA staff members are preparing to escape the frigid north next week for the fifth annual U.S. Sport Aviation Expo, which takes place January 22-25 at the Sebring Regional Airport in Florida. The event, one of the nation’s most popular showcase events for the light-sport aircraft industry, will feature more than 150 exhibitors, including many LSA manufacturers displaying their latest product offerings to potential buyers.
Aviation enthusiasts can check out the latest product offerings - “kick the tires” - or even arrange for demonstration flights. Aircraft on display will include fixed-wing, weight-shift trikes, powered parachutes, motor-gliders, and gyroplanes.
“This event is the trade show for the light-sport industry,” said Ron Wagner, EAA field relations’ manager and a Sebring forum presenter. “The exclusive focus on sport pilot and LSA gives manufacturers and enthusiasts a chance to interact on a more intimate level.”
Wagner also serves as coordinator for the event’s forum and workshop schedule, featuring more than 40 sessions on a wide variety of LSA topics including the sport pilot certificate; training programs; aircraft insurance and financing programs; engines and maintenance; and others. Bob Mackey, EAA Aircraft Insurance Plan representative, will present “Insurance for Sport Pilots and LSA” twice at Sebring.
EAA members who present their membership card receive reduced admission. Other specials for members include a free hat with every quote request submission through the EAA Aircraft Insurance Plan’s self-service kiosk; and a free t-shirt to those who apply for the EAA Credit Card.
The Expo runs from 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Thursday-Saturday and 9 a.m.- 3 p.m. on Sunday. For more information, visit www.sport-aviation-expo.com.
