Fifth Chapter Leaders Academy

Chapter Leaders Workshop
Some of the EAA chapter leaders academy attendees who flew on EAA's Ford Tri-Motor last weekend included (l to r) Joe Neal, Doug and Carole Myhre, Jim Solberg, Aaron Gleixner, Karsten Kessler, Jeff Seaborn, and Jim Gundry. At far right is pilot Gerry Flaugher.

October 16, 2008 — Eighteen leaders, 12 EAA chapters, six states – that was the makeup of last weekend’s fifth EAA Chapter Leaders Academy held at the EAA Aviation Center in Oshkosh, Wisconsin. A total of 138 attendees representing 107 chapters have now attended Leaders Academy weekend programs, where they have numerous opportunities to interact, share, and learn from each other as well as EAA staff members.

EAA President Tom Poberezny greeted attendees on Friday evening. They also took advantage of the beautiful weather and viewed the peak fall colors from above with a flight in EAA’s Ford Tri-Motor. On Saturday they enjoyed lunch with EAA Founder and Chairman Paul Poberezny.

EAA encourages chapter members, especially those in leadership positions and newly elected officers to sign up for a future academy session. Here is the upcoming schedule:

  • January 23-25, 2009
  • February 27-March 1, 2009
  • March 27-29, 2009
  • September 18-20, 2009
  • October 16-18, 2009
